Los Angeles is a beautiful place to visit, but it’s not necessarily a city that many of us would want to live in. The weather can be unbearably hot and dry, and the traffic can be incredibly bad. However, there are some things that we love about this city. One of these is the amazing public parks that we have here. There are so many of them around Los Angeles, and they are all stunning in their own way.
What better way to properly enjoy the beautiful views in Los Angeles than to visit some of their best patios? These restaurants with patios, bars, and cafes all have stunning views that should be enjoyed.
Which are the Best Patios in LA?
When picking which restaurant with a patio to go to in Los Angeles, the first thing you should consider is the type of restaurant that you’re going to. There are many different types of restaurants in Los Angeles, and each of them has its own distinct way of doing things. Knowing what kind of restaurant it is will give you a better idea as to which patio would be best for you.
Probably the most popular type of restaurant in Los Angeles is a bar or cafe with an outdoor patio. These places tend to have some pretty awesome patios that they can always use more people on. Here’s some of the hottest spots in LA to try:
Nobu
Nobu is one of those places that looks so amazing that you may think that this is not real life. It is the only restaurant in Malibu that serves a menu that is designed by Nobu Matsuhisa. The restaurant is right next to Surfrider Beach and the Malibu Pier. Close to the beach, you can hear children running around playing in the sand.
It has a minimalist design that perfectly complements its natural surroundings. The restaurant serves gorgeous sushi and modern Japanese cuisine that is as beautiful as the seaside setting. Their miniature tacos are chock-full of creamy uni, and the tiradito (thin slices of seared whitefish with a splash of chili) is delicious. It’s worth noting that reservations are necessary for this place.
Ka’Teen
Ka’Teen serves up modern Mexican food that features an inordinate amount of heating, in order to keep diners warm on those breezy LA nights. Sip on some perfectly-made cocktails and eat some fantastic, well-roasted cochinita pibil. If you want to dress up and have an uber-mad night out in Hollywood, this is the place to go. Calypso and citrus-flavored aguachiles and ceviches are a great idea for a fun meal, and the lamb barbacoa is just right for a family meal. Everyone can get involved in making their own tacos.
Yes, it’s loud, crowded, and clubby, but there are some very nice people who like it that way. Try to be one of them before you leave LA. If you can nab a table and get a reservation, it’s perfect for a girls’ night out, a fancy date night or, really, any night when the crowds in the area are pretty comfortable.
Cha Cha Cha
Massive palm trees hide secret alcoves for diners, a separate bar for people who want to spend their afternoon drinking cocktails, and you can see the city from the best angles. Cha Cha Cha makes dining in Los Angeles seem like you’re eating a multimillion-dollar dinner — and with a tasty menu that includes things like tuna tostadas and mezcal negronis, it’s perfect for any occasion.
Although you may be in the States at this palm-shaded Mexican restaurant in the Arts District, the elegant, seafood-focused menu and fun atmosphere at this place will guarantee you an unforgettable night. Order a tuna tostada and a couple of mezcal cocktails and you’ll feel like you’ve escaped to some distant island paradise.
Fia
Fia is a hidden gem in Santa Monica, and the first thing you’ll see when you walk in from the street is the enormous patio. It’s huge. This place has a huge patio. The space is comfy and romantic, and it’s lit up with enough white lights and bright lights that’ll certainly put you and your date in a nice mood.
It has a very pretty patio that’s hidden off Wilshire Boulevard, with plenty of string lights and trees and a relaxing atmosphere. Although the menu is a little more rustic and Californian-inspired than other Santa Monica restaurants, the food is not half bad. They have delicious pasta dishes, wood-fired meat and seafood, and excellent happy hour bites. It’s one of the best patios in Westside Santa Monica. If you like a place that looks good and serves good food, we recommend Fia, for sure!
Alta Adams
This West Adams restaurant also has a huge outdoor dining area where you can sit and enjoy a big bowl of fried chicken and a huge bowl of black-eyed pea fritters. It’s easy to drink these delicious cocktails outside, because they taste so good. Drinks here are sweet and refreshing.
With vines draping over the patio and lighting up the night, and plenty of great Southern food, the outdoor dining space at Alta Adams is perfect for lounging and dining for hours and hours. There’s plenty of room to sit back and relax, and the location is quieter than the main dining room or the kitchen. This is a great spot for those looking for a more secluded dinner, away from the public eye and the hustle and bustle of the city.
